DIY Clear Skin Face Cleanser

DIY Clear Skin Face Cleanser

Disclaimer: I am not an aesthetician, dermatologist, chemist, or expert of any kind. Please be aware that everyone’s skin is different and what works for me may not work for you.

Clean beauty feins, allow me to introduce you to your next DIY project: a super nourishing, SUPER easy to make clear skin face cleanser.

This cleanser is packed full of moisturizing and noncomedogenic (acne friendly) ingredients, took me less than 10 minutes to make, and left me with plenty of extra ingredients for when I run out.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Castile soap (Benefits: Gentle, moisturizing, pH balancing, pore cleansing)

  • Raw organic honey (Benefits: Anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, helps lighten scars, natural antioxidants)

  • Jojoba oil (Benefits: Moisturizing, helps control sebum production, antibacterial)

  • Peppermint essential oil (Benefits: Calming, toning, anti-inflammatory)

  • 4 oz bottle (UPDATE: I bought these NEW bottles on Amazon - the amber glass helps to properly preserve the oils)

Directions:

Mix ⅓ cup of castile soap, 3 tbs of honey, 3 tbs of jojoba oil, and 10 drops of peppermint essential oil in a measuring cup (or any bowl with a lip so it’s easy to pour into your bottle).

Pour the mixture into your bottle and you’re ready to go! (So easy)

A couple of notes for usage:

  • I use 2x/day

  • This mixture does not contain an emulsifying agent (an ingredient that keeps all of the other ingredients homogeneously mixed together) so the ingredients will separate. Give it a good shake before using

  • Do the typical routine: wet your face with warm water, gently massage a small amount of cleanser onto your skin, and rinse with warm water

  • Be delicate around the eye area to avoid getting it into your eyes :)

Happy cleansing, friends!
