DIY Face Oil

DIY Face Oil

Disclaimer: I am not an aesthetician, dermatologist, chemist, or expert of any kind. Please be aware that everyone’s skin is different and what works for me may not work for you.

I love love love a good face oil. From tackling my hormonal acne to being an incredible makeup primer, face oil is a must-have in my skincare routine.

I’ve also found that I love love love a good DIY skincare product (check out my DIY face cleanser here). Like most skincare, a good quality commercial face oil can come with a hefty price tag, so I went in search of effective, affordable, and non-comedogenic oils and put together an incredibly simple and affordable face oil.

Enjoy :)

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Jojoba oil (Benefits: Moisturizing, helps control sebum production, antibacterial)

  • Grapeseed oil (Benefits: Prevents clogged pores, protects against free radicals, balances skin, anti-inflammatory)

  • Tea tree oil (Benefits: Treats acne and other skin irritations, fights bacteria, anti-inflammatory)

  • 2 oz bottle (I bought these on Amazon - the amber glass helps to properly preserve the oils)

Directions:

Mix 2 tbs of jojoba oil, 2 tbs of grapeseed oil, and 10 drops of tea tree oil in a measuring bowl (or any bowl with a lip so it’s easy to pour into your bottle).

Pour into your bottle and you’re ready to go! (So easy)

A couple of notes for usage:

  • I use this 2x/day after cleansing, toning, and spot treating

  • This mixture does not contain an emulsifying agent (an ingredient that keeps all of the other ingredients homogeneously mixed together) so the ingredients will separate. Give it a good shake before using

  • Be delicate around the eye area to avoid getting it into your eyes :)

Cheers to happy skin!
